Name: Jerry Smith
Title: Volunteer and Donation Manager at Seeds Thrift Boutique
When did you start at The HOPE Center? August 2017
How did you initially get connected with The HOPE Center? I served with a group from Revolution Church through their Serve Saturday ministry.
How have you seen God work through this ministry? I’ve seen many babies’ and adults’ lives saved. I have seen staff and volunteers grow deeper spiritually. God has grown me so much spiritually and emotionally through The Hope Center. I pray and interact with the customers and volunteers in a spiritual way that I never could before.
Favorite memory with The HOPE Center? My favorite memory was getting to pray with a customer who was a grandma to unborn twins. The mother had to stay in the hospital most of her pregnancy and there were many complications with one of the babies in particular. They expected one of the babies to be born significantly lower in weight because of not getting enough nutrients in the womb. But God. When the babies were born, the one expected to be smaller actually weighed more than the other. The grandma stopped back in the store after the twins were born and was joy-filled and praising God as she was telling me the story.
Favorite bible verse? But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you. – Matthew 6:33
Fun fact about you? I love running.
Favorite color? Bright colors
Favorite food? Chicken
You have your own late night talk show, who do you invite as your first guest? Jennifer Aniston. I’ve always had a crush on her and would love to meet her.
You have to sing karaoke, what song do you pick? Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus
If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life what would it be? Chicken. I love it!
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? A Braves player
